I’ve been in a rut lately. I feel like I haven’t been eating as great as I could. I haven’t been exercising like I should. I’ve just been in a funk. I know that eating better, exercising more, and being more disciplined overall will help.
As I’ve looked back at the times I’ve been the most successful at making healthy changes, I realized that I set concrete behavior goals with an end date. I know that sounds weird, but I’ve said “I’m going to do x,y, and z for this many days and after that I can reevaluate.” It’s worked far better than my I’m going to lose x amount of weight by this date or I’m going to run a marathon by this date kind of goals.
With that in mind, I’ve decided to do a 1 million steps before summer challenge. Summer is 105 days away, so that means 9524 steps a day. I rounded up and am committed to 10,000 steps a day (which is the recommended amount of steps an average person should take to stay healthy).
I am hoping that many of you will join me in this challenge. If you have a Fitbit, a Vivosmart (that’s what I’m using) a pedometer or any other kind of step tracker that I missed you can track your steps for the next 100 days and join me. I’m tracking mine in a Google doc.
Also, if you have a Garmin product (Vivofit, Vivosmart, or Vivoactive), I’d love to connect with you. My username is lisajoythompson.
I am also committed to doing the following 2 things for the next 105 days.
1. Take Plexus Slim every day (It balances my blood sugar and makes me feel so much better. I also tend to eat better without trying when I take Plexus Slim.)
2. Drink at least 100 oz of water every day.
My plan is to update you every weekend with my progress. I’m also weighing myself and taking measurements so that I can see how committing to do these 3 things makes a difference. When all is said and done, I’ll give you the totals for that as well.
So, who’s going to join me! I’d love it if we can all encourage each other!
