Dressember: Day 2 {Plus Sized Outfit of the Day}

So it’s day 2 of Dressember and I actually did my hair and makeup! 🙂 And then I put a hat on.

I realized that when it comes to dresses, I have a lot of bright colorful comfortable dresses that I can wear with leggings and boots. I’ll try not to wear the same boots every day of December.

Today I opted for one of my bright colorful dresses and just like yesterday, this one is from Ross. I added a black belt that I’ve had for a zillion years. I also borrowed this adorable hat from my daughter. I totally felt like I was channeling my inner Blossom.

I paired the dress with a pair of Black Leggings from Forever 21 and their Plus Sized collection and my Ariat Alabama boots and finished off the look with these fabulous Noonday earrings.

Day 2 is in the books! 🙂

Dressember: Day 1 {Plus Sized Outfit of the Day}

During the month of December, we’re doing something a little different! Rather than your typical Plus Sized Outfit of the Day, I will be participating in Dressember, an initiative that uses fashion and creativity to restore dignity to all women. I’m participating in Dressember because I believe in everyday advocacy. I know my voice matters, and that I can help change the world that millions of abused women and girls wake up to every morning.

What that means is that I’ll be wearing a dress every single day for the month of December. I will try to give you purchase information so that you can purchase the outfits or accessories that you like, but for some outfits (like the one above), I didn’t purchase the dress recently, so I’ll just have to tell you where I got it and you can see if you can find something similar.

1. Dress by Annabelle (purchased at Ross last winter)
2. Burgandy Tights by One Step Up (purchased at Ross as well, but you can get tights by One Step Up at Ross, Marshalls, Gordmans, etc.)
3. Ariat Alabama Boots in Waterfall (I have these boots in Redwood as well and they are awesome!!!)

Please disregard the lack of makeup and accessories. It’s been a crazy day. I’ll try to do better tomorrow!

Plus Size Fashion Tips for Summer

Summer is here and with the warmer temps comes the need to update your wardrobe. When you’re on the curvy side, wearing less clothing can make you feel a little self conscious, so I’ve put together these tips to keep you looking and feeling your best!

1. What you can’t see is sometimes more important that what you can see.

While you may think I’m talking about your personality and confidence, I’m actually talking about your undergarments! 🙂 Wearing the right undergarments can make you look better and feel better. We all have features that we like more than others! You may have a great pair of legs or fabulous shoulders! Maybe you have a tiny waist or fabulous bust! Whatever it is that you love about yourself, find clothes that highlight that area!

3. Wear clothes that fit and flatter!

Regardless of what size you wear…whether you’re an 8 or a 28, you need to wear clothes that fit and flatter. Either way, it’s not a good look! Choose clothes that fit well and if they don’t fit the way you need them to, take them to a tailor. It will be a worthwhile investment!

4. Add a pop of color to your outfits!

We’ve all heard that black can make you look thinner and while that can be true, it doesn’t mean that you should dress solely in black!

5. Pick patterns with care and pick patterns with flare!

I’ve heard it said that plus-sized women should stick with solid colors. I couldn’t disagree more! While the wrong pattern can draw the eye to your trouble spots, the right pattern can take your style level from ordinary to extraordinary!

6. Accessorize!!!
