What’s In My MakeUp Bag {October}

I have a serious obsession with beauty products! I love them! I love seeing what my friends are using. I love seeing what celebrities are using. I love trying new products. Whenever I get a new issues of US Weekly, the first thing I look at is the What’s In My Bag section. If you’ve never checked out What’s In My Bag in US Weekly, they share what’s in a celebrity’s purse. I have a seriously huge purse and it’s always jam packed with stuff and while some day I may dump it all out and show you what’s in it, I figured I’d start small and share what’s in my makeup bag!

I have a variety of products that I love from a variety of companies.

Have you noticed what’s not in my makeup bag? Anyone???

If you guessed mascara, you’re right! I got eyelash extensions and they are absolutely amazing! I wake up every morning feeling beautiful and I don’t have to use any mascara! It’s awesome!!!

If you don’t have extensions, my favorite way to get great lashes is with the 3D Fiber Lashes. I typically put on a coat of mascara (I typically use either Mary Kay or Too Faced mascara) first and then use the 3D Fiber Lashes kit.

Natural Anti-Aging Cream With Basil

One of my favorite homemade beauty products is this Natural Anti-Aging Cream with Basil Essential Oil. I love the idea of using an anti-aging cream on my face to help with those little fine lines around my eyes and mouth. Even though I know that these are part of the aging process, it never hurts to use something to moisturize and gain some benefits to help slow down that aging process.

Natural Anti-Aging Cream With Basil

There is no magic cure to get rid of all of your wrinkles and fine lines. You can, however, create a smoother skin appearance by using a quality moisturizer. This natural homemade anti-aging cream with basil and rose hips essential oil is a great choice. The rich base of shea butter is perfect for deep moisturizing. The addition of witch hazel tightens your skin and makes the fine lines appear to actually disappear.

Ingredients:

1/3 cup fresh basil leaves and stems
1/3 cup witch hazel
water
1 teaspoon almond oil (or your favorite oil)
2 teaspoons Shea Butter (or your favorite butter)
1.5 teaspoons Emulsifying Wax
7-10 drops rosehip essential oils

Directions:

Using a food processor combine witch hazel and basil leaves and witch hazel and blend well. Strain the now-green witch hazel into a half-pint canning jar, until you have ¼ cup of basil liquid. If you don’t have enough liquid add a little water to reach the ¼ cup.

In a microwavable bowl add Shea butter, Almond oil and emulsifying wax. Heat in 30-second increments until melted and smooth.

Add basil mix to the butter mix and slowly stir and allow it to cool and thicken.

Once fully thickened add 7-10 drops of Rosehip Essential Oil. If your skin is dry add 10.
Once fully thickened and cooled pour into half pint storage jars and seal.
Keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks

Making your own homemade natural anti-aging cream is super easy and affordable. Many of the popular brands on the market cost upwards of $50 for a tiny jar. You can spend the same amount and have enough to last for 2-3 years instead of 2-3 months! I love how budget-friendly this recipe is. For gifting to your friends, you can even add this to small beauty jars and add into a gift bag with some other homemade products.

Being happy with yourself doesn’t mean you can’t do little things like this to improve your appearance. These little things can be just what you need to boost your self-esteem. Accepting fine lines and wrinkles is part of aging, but adding our natural anti-aging cream into your daily routine is a great way to make them look a little better in the process.

Homemade Natural Best Cellulite Cream

The best cellulite cream you’ll ever try is this great homemade natural version. We all know that cellulite is something that happens to almost everyone, but on bigger women, it is much more noticeable. This super easy homemade cellulite cream is a great option for helping you smooth the dimples on your skin.

I am a huge fan of homemade and natural beauty products. Essential oils are another favorite product in our home. Realizing that there is no miracle cure for cellulite is one thing I have had to accept. That said, I don’t have to live with it being as noticeable when creams like this can reduce some of the visibility.

The best cellulite cream is a simple recipe that you can throw together in minutes in your bathroom. Making this in small batches makes it affordable and easy to keep handy year round in your bathroom. When you see how great it works, you’ll probably start offering to your friends. That means you’ll want to make a few batches to share. I love these simple small lidded jars to give sample batches to my friends and family when they ask for some to try.

Ingredients:

¾ cup Coconut oil
2 tablespoon beeswax
2 tablespoon Witch Hazel
10 drops Lemon Essential Oil
30 Drops Grapefruit Essential Oil

Directions:

In a small bowl mix witch hazel and essential oils, stir until well blended.

Add coconut oil and beeswax in a small pan and place over low heat until completely melted and well blended.

In a small jar mix coconut oil mixture with essential oils mixture and combine evenly.

Store in a cool, dry place

This homemade cellulite cream works because, grapefruit and lemon essential oils both work to increase circulation, eliminating toxins and help with fluid retention. Grapefruit oil is a strong anti-inflammatory and contains the enzyme bromelain, which helps to break down cellulite. The witch hazel refines and tightens the skin; this helps deflect the visual effects of cellulite. Additionally, the beeswax and coconut oil act as a cream base and quickly absorb into the skin allowing for maximum benefits of the oils.

The combinations above make this the best cellulite cream around, and even better since you can make it at home for such a low cost. I hate the idea of spending a ton of money on a cream that may not do any good. This is not just the best cellulite cream, but a great inexpensive option you can easily make with ingredients you probably already have on hand at home.

While you are working on getting fit, it is always a good idea to do those little things that make you feel better about yourself. This best cellulite cream is homemade and natural making it an easy choice to add to your daily routine. You know it isn’t a weight loss product, but if it smooths your skin a bit and helps you feel better about yourself, it is a great option to create and use regularly.
