Weight Loss Wednesday:  October 24, 2018

I’m not sure where time has gone.  And I’m not sure how many weeks I’ve missed, but it’s been quite a few!  Anyway, the scale has been kind over the last few weeks and I’m happy to say I’m now under 190!  I’m still loving my Smart Cocoa and I feel amazing!  I shared this photo over on my Instagram a few weeks ago.  It’s amazing the changes that have happened in less than a year. And apparently, some things don’t change…like my love of animal prints, denim jackets, and knee-high boots.

For the last year or two, my husband’s weight has been around 190 and I have been so looking forward to weighing less than him.  A few weeks ago, my husband started drinking the Smart Cocoa and he now weighs under 180. I want to kill him.  He lost 10 pounds so quickly and he hardly had any weight to lose.  Also, we just had a bunch of suits tailored for him and now they’re all too big.  So annoying!

Anyway, I’m hoping to eventually weigh less than him  I know that time will come sooner or later!

Today’s Weight:  189.9
Weight Lost Since Last Post:  9.8 pounds
Total Weight Loss in 2018: 77.8 pounds

Weight Loss Wednesday: September 26, 2018

Happy Wednesday! Last week, I alluded to something new I’ve been trying and I’ve had quite a few people reach out to ask what it is…so I thought I’d start with that.  It’s no secret that my weight loss has been all over the map these last 5 or 6 weeks.  It’s been up and down no matter what I do and I’m not losing as fast as I’d like.  A friend of mine who has been on her own weightloss journey shared with me about a product she’d been using to help her weightloss. This product helps to curb cravings, helps with mental clarity and also provides extra energy…all things I need, however, her product was a coffee drink and I don’t do coffee.  She recently reached out to tell me that the company that makes her coffee now makes hot cocoa…and I love hot cocoa.  So she sent me a sample…and I immediately ordered some.  This stuff is awesome! It tastes delicious and it has definitely helped with cravings and with energy.  Best of all, the pounds are leaving again!

So this week I lost another 2.9 pounds.  I’m back under 200 pounds again…so that’s nice! 🙂  It’s really sad that I was here 5 weeks ago…but at least I’m back.  And I’m planning for the scale to continue moving in the right direction.

I’ve also branched out a little since I’ve lost weight.  I tend to usually wear bright colors and fun patterns, but lately, I’ve been a big fan of white t-shirts and I’ve bought a few cute ones to wear with jean shorts.

Weight Loss Wednesday:  September 19, 2018

Happy Wednesday!  It’s been another busy week at my house. Nothing new there, though.  I had another good week of hiking, although my hike last Thursday was super interesting.  I hiked earlier than usual and it seemed like there was a lot more wildlife out than what I usually see.  I saw a ginormous lizard (but my phone was in my backpack and I couldn’t get it out fast enough to snap a picture).  I also saw a roadrunner.  I’m not sure why, but I always thought roadrunners were bigger birds (around the size of an ostrich).  I’m not sure why I thought that, but after watching Bugs Bunny, I always thought they were large.  They’re actually pretty small. Who knew?!?  Anyway, when I got to the top of the trail where I usually rest, there was a snake…and he was sunning himself on the rock I usually lean on to rest!!!  I wish I had thought to take a picture of the other side of the rock.  The snake was super long!!!

While I’ve seen snakes before while hiking, this is the first one I’ve seen on this trail. I’m sure there are plenty of them on the trail, but they probably do a better job hiding than this one.

I really worked hard to eat clean this week, although I did have some s’mores when we used our fire pit for the first time.  I’m super excited about having a fire pit and so when the temp dipped below 100 one night, we celebrated with a fire and smores.

I seriously love S’mores, so I was pretty proud of myself for only making 2.  There was a time I would have made a whole lot more than that!


So this was a good week as far as the scale goes.  I’ve been trying something new that I think has been helping, but I’m not totally sure, so I’ll hold off on telling you about it. 🙂 I’ll probably share next week.

Weight Loss Wednesday: September 12, 2018

So I finally worked out this week. One of the reasons we chose our new house is because of how close it is to one of my favorite hiking trails. With my crazy work schedule and the extreme summer temps in Arizona, the only time I can get in a hike is before I take the kids to school. And since we leave the house at 7:30, I have to get up, drive to the trailhead, hike, drive home, take a quick shower and head out with the kiddos. When we lived 30 minutes from the trailhead, there was no way to get in a 1 hour hike, plus 1 hour of driving, plus a shower before 7:30. Now I’m less than 10 minutes from the trailhead and so I can get in a good hike before taking the kids to school and heading to work. I had hoped that my hikes would lead to a big loss on the scale, but it just wasn’t meant to be. While I did lose weight this week, it wasn’t quite what I hoped it would be. But a loss is still a loss.

Last night I went to a Color Street event and the focus was on the fall pantone colors.  While it’s still hot as blazes here, I was so excited to throw on some booties and this Quetzel Green shirt. 

I got so many compliments on my outfit and quite a few people commented on my weight loss.  It made me feel really good…especially since the scale is still not cooperating.

 

 

This week, I lost another .8 pounds.  I really want to get back under 200 pounds.  I’m not sure what the problem is, but I’m just going to keep plugging away.  Eventually I will reach my goal.  I just keep reminding myself that this is my year to get healthy.

Weight Loss Wednesday:  September 5, 2018

This past week was another busy week. I worked a ton, the kids had lots going on at school, and my husband’s schedule was busier than usual.  On a positive note, we got to spend some fun family time at a football game on Friday night.  I’ve also been super productive and have been batch cooking meals and freezing them so we’re eating at home a lot more.  I’m hoping we can get to the point that the only time we eat out is on our date nights.

I’m continually amazed at how well my clothes are fitting.  I continue to find things that are too big, but I’d much rather have that problem than the opposite problem…which has pretty much been the story of my life.

I didn’t post a picture last week and realized I didn’t take many pictures this week, but thought I’d share this picture I took the other day in one of my favorite dresses.  I shared earlier this year that I’d avoided white dresses, but that since I’ve started losing weight, I feel pretty good about how I look in this white dress.  It’s pretty much my favorite dress right now.

Ok…and now what you really came here for.  I kept stepping on the scale this week, seeing the number, stepping off the scale, moving it to another place in the bathroom….and then starting the process over again.  While I’d love to tell you that the weird scale blip has corrected itself, it unfortunately, it hasn’t. And so I decided to just leave the scale in one place and get on with my life.

While the scale isn’t doing what I’d like it do, at least it didn’t go up again.  I think I need to start incorporating exercise back into my life.  My goal is to get out and hike this next week.
