Last week, I wrote a post about causes for hair loss in women. I originally intended to write about female hair loss treatment as well, but I got a little carried away, so I decided to write a second post about hair loss treatment options. While there are plenty of things you can do to help with your hair loss, if you’re not sure what the cause of your hair loss is, I highly recommend heading to the doctor. Some doctors will shrug off hair-loss issues, but you need to advocate for yourself and ask for blood tests to help shed some light on what’s going on and possible causes.

Female Hair Loss Treatment Options
Diet and Exercise
If you’re losing your hair due to nutritional deficiencies, diet and exercise can help. The reason diet is so important is that you can lose your hair if you’re not getting the right micronutrients. Exercise is important because it helps with circulation and blood flow.
Scalp Massage
A scalp massage can be super beneficial to anyone suffering from thinning hair or hair loss. Massaging your head will bring more blood to the area which will cause the follicles to grow more hair. You could DIY your scalp massage with one of these or you could go to a professional who knows what they’re doing.
Vitamins and Supplements
If you’re suffering from any type of nutritional deficiency, supplementation can help. This is especially true if you’re suffering from an iron deficiency or a B vitamin deficiency. Here are some vitamins and supplements that have gotten rave reviews from people I know.
Use the Right Hair Products
It’s super important to pay attention to which products you use. Use a shampoo system that is specifically for thinning hair. Nioxin is great for thinning hair and has products that work with specific hair types as well.
Laser Light Treatments
Some people have seen some results from specialized laser light treatments at their dermatologist. Most people think of this type of light as taking hair away, but there are treatments that help you grow hair too. You can even get a laser treatment at home.
Topical Treatments
You can get over-the-counter topical treatments like Rogaine. Rogaine is the #1 doctor recommended treatment for hair regrowth. It’s really inexpensive and is FDA approved. You can find Rogaine as well as the generic in grocery stores and drug stores.
