Last week I threw out my back which means I stopped my 21 Day Fix workouts. I could barely walk, stand, or sit, so working out was totally out of the question. After multiple visits to the massage therapist, I’m feeling human again, but think I’m going to wait another week or two to pick up the workouts again.
So something totally weird happened this week. My husband moved the scale. He didn’t do it on purpose…it sits on the floor of our closet in a certain spot and he was going through his stuff in the closet and the scale got moved. While that shouldn’t be a big deal, when I stood on the scale to weigh myself, I weighed 6 pounds more than the day before. Yep…I thought maybe I could reposition it, but no matter what I’ve done, it hasn’t changed. So either moving the scale is making a huge difference or I’m retaining water like crazy. Either way, I’ll live, but it’s totally weird. I know I haven’t eaten 6 pounds worth of extra food, so I’m going to chalk it up to something weird. It could also be my thyroid freaking out. My thyroid has been weigh off lately and I can totally tell by the way I’m feeling. I’m going to make an appointment with the endocrinologist after my kids go back to school and life slows down a little.
So while I probably should be more concerned about a 5.7 pound gain, I’m not. I figure it will come off eventually. My clothes aren’t fitting differently…if anything, they’re getting looser, so it’s all good.
I’m heading out of town tonight to go to a family reunion and a wedding. I’ll also be celebrating my birthday and my husband’s birthday. It should be a great long weekend, but it will be totally busy and filled with delicious (but not necessarily healthy) food!

Hopefully next week, the scale will be my friend again! 🙂
