If you really want to find clothes that fit and flatter, you’re going to need to come to grips with your body shape. I’m not saying you should spend time staring at yourself in the mirror and obsessing over the fact that you may not be as thin as other women or that you may not be as tall as you’d like to be. You need to spend some time looking at yourself in the mirror and evaluating the shape of your body.
Believe me, I understand that looking at yourself in the mirror may be the last thing you want to do, but if you want to find clothes that are going to be flattering, you need to suck it up (not suck it in) and take a good look in the mirror.
Every woman, no matter what her size or shape, has a body part that they like. Whether it’s thin ankles, a graceful neckline, long legs, shapely calves, nice shoulders, a defined waistline or something else, you need to figure out which part of your body you want to highlight. Then you’ll create a focal point around that area.
I highly recommend spending some time looking in the mirror before you head to the store. There’s nothing worse than cramped dressing rooms with unflattering lighting when you’re trying to focus on your best features!
Once you’ve determined what your shape is and what body part your want to accentuate, you’ll be able to more easily figure out what is flattering to you.
Do you know what your best feature is?
I have great calves and ankles, so whenever possible, I try to show them off make them the focal point of my outfits. I look for dresses and skirts that camouflage my trouble spots (tummy and hips) and accentuate my calves and ankles! See what I mean?
What’s your favorite body feature? If you’re not sure, go take a look in the mirror and then come back and leave me a comment…

Mine is my calves too!
Also, I finally figured out that some necklines are just not flattering with my broad shoulders. Whew!

I love the little back dress and it is so curvaceous I also love the pictures you took of yourself modeling the dress with a jean jacket. I have such a hard time choosing clothing that fits me.
my hair and eyes
You being a sponsor the One in a Million Dad Giveaway gives us all a chance at giving a much bigger gift than we would normally be able to buy! Thank you for that ;D Good luck everyone!
My calves are my plus for sure, and my chest (if I’m wearing the right bra). I don’t like anything touching my neck so vee and scooped necks a a must.
For me, I am always showing off my neck and my upper chest /clavicle area. I feel like I wear shirts well. And like another poster, I also like my feet.
My favorite body feature is my calves

thanks for the chance to win…..
I have the calves of a cheerleader. They just don’t ever seem to go down. Sure it was great when I was in cheer-leading but it has been a couple decades now. I found it best to wear things that take the focus off of them by zeroing in on waist or bust for example.
Thank you! This is always a big concern of mine, i have a lower body that needs… de-emphasized
thank you for sponsoring One in a million dad Giveaway:)
eeesh… my calves are big:) got it from my dad.lolz. and my flabby arms from my mom.:)
but i feel good..:))
great post! thanks for all the advice!
I like my legs, but hate my bust line (just not much there, LOL). It’s hard to find the right fit for my body because I am tall and lean. Pants are hard to find because my legs are so long. Thanks for the post.
Finding clothes that fit & flatter my body after having 3 kids is the reason I avoid clothes shopping like the plague. It’s hard to find just the right clothes that I feel great in. LOL
I personally like wearing jeans / sweatshirts just to cover it all up. My torso is all up “higher” on my body which makes it impossible to wear dresses properly. Kudos to you for showing yourself off!
My favorite feature would be my eyes and my hair.
I love my shoulders but hate my upper arms. that can be a problem. I love it when I find an off the shoulder with a 3/4 sleeve so much that I get one in every color they have. lol
my eyelashes!
Probably my legs…I have long legs
