I am always looking for those top must have items for my beauty bag, and this list has the best of the best for winter skin care. With cold weather, tons of hand washing to kill germs, and winter wind often leaving skin chapped and dry, these are definitely a must for everyone.
10 Beauty Must Haves For Winter Skin Care
Coconut Oil: While there are many particular products out there I recommend, at the end of the day coconut oil is one of the best winter skin care items you will find. It is versatile, affordable, and rarely causes any kind of skin reaction. It’s a must for sure in any beauty regimen. It works as a moisturizer on skin, in homemade beauty products, and even as a great hair conditioner.
Moisturizer with Sunscreen: I am a stickler about sunscreen. Even in winter months when you aren’t outside a lot, you can still get too much sun. I always use a great moisturizer with a sunscreen included. My favorite. Olay Complete All Day Moisturizer with Sunscreen is super affordable and works wonderfully.
Amlactin Lotion: This brand is one of the best moisturizers for dry skin. It’s often recommended by dermatologists, and it is affordable enough to use on a regular basis. I love the basic Amlactin Lotion, but also the advanced foot cream for super healing. If you have KP (those crazy bumps on the back of your arms), this is great for that as well!
Exfoliant Scrub: Dry skin means flaky skin. Having a good exfoliant scrub is a must. St. Ives Exfoliant Scrub is ideal for use on your entire body and is always one of my favorites with the pleasant scent.
Anti-Dandruff Shampoo: Dry skin is also on your scalp in the winter months. An anti-dandruff shampoo can help rid some of that problem, and there is nothing better than the Neutrogena T-Fal Shampoo.
Moisturizing Body Wash: Whether you use a body wash or a bar soap, a moisturizing version is a must as a winter skin care product. Burt’s Bees Peppermint and Rosemary Body Soap is a favorite of mine, but you can find any scent and variety you prefer in a moisturizing blend.
Milk Bath: For truly soft and luxurious skin, a milk bath is a great choice. I love SkinMilk Milk Bath, but you can even use your own homemade milk bath with a gallon of milk or dried milk powder in your bath. Whatever you choose, a milk bath is luxurious and perfect for soothing dry winter skin.
Makeup Remover: Nothing damages your skin like going to sleep with makeup on. Not only does it clog pores, it can create dry and flaky skin. A good makeup remover is a necessity if you regularly wear makeup. I love the Simple Cleansing Facial Wipes but there are many quality makeup removers to choose from.
Facial Mask: I love a good mask to really help open pores and moisturize my face. There are tons of great masks that you can leave on for a short period of time, but my all time favorite is the Cosrx Ultimate Moisturizing Honey Overnight Mask.
Deep Cleaning Facial Brush: You’ve seen the automatic exfoliators, but I love the multi-purpose deep cleaning facial brush. They come with various attachments for scrubbing away dead skin, or simply opening up pores. Using this alongside other winter skin care items can create a glowing and fresh look you will love. The FLYMEI 7-in-1 is my favorite since it can be used for your face, neck, body, and even feet.
